Hydrodynamic Performance of the Jet Propulsion Mixed-flow Pump by CFD Simulation

  • CFD simucation is used to predict the hydrodynamic performance of the mixed-flow pump with waterjet propulsion made by KaMeWa, and the flow inside the pump is analyzed. The calculation region is divided into four par ts including inlet, impeller, stator and nozzle, and meshed by the structure grid. The Shear Stress Transport turbulent equation which combined k -ε and k -ω turbulent model, and the multiple reference frame models a are used to solve the governing equations. CFD is considered feasible to predict the performance of waterjet mixed-flow pump after comparing the computing results with the test data whose error is less than 2% .The str eamline in flow field and pressure distribution on the blade of the waterjet pump are analyzed based on the computational results in detail.
