Research Progress on Sound Radiation of Turbulence in Pipeline

  • For studying the sound radiation of turbulence, the author introduced Lighthill acoustic analogy and the relative theories, such as Curle equation, Powell vortex sound theory etc.. These theories were used to study the mechanism of the turbulence boundary layer noise, vortex noise generated by turbulence in pipes and valves. The main noise containing double pole and quadrupole acoustic sources were studied in a nutshell. Some techniques and methods for controlling the flow noise commonly used in practice were porposed.
