Weak Link Determination of Anti-shock Performance of Shipboard Equipments Based on Pauta Criterion

  • The damage risk of shipboard equipments subjected to the impulsive loads poses challenges to the combat capability of naval ships. A study was performed by using Pauta criterion to determine the weak link of anti-shock performance of shipboard equipments when they were exposed to blast impact. Through the statistic analyses on dynamic response of the equipments under these impart loads, the frequency characteristics of structural response were found to be in fair agreement with the logarithm normal distribution. Models of main turbo-generator set of ships were built as a case study on the weak link determination using methods of both the Pauta criterion and the frequency calculation. Pauta criterion shows more feasible for the weak link determination of anti-shock performance and the results more accurate and comprehensive than those by the frequency calculation method.
