Elasto-Plastic Fracture Analysis of J Integration for Stiffened Plates

  • Based on the EPRI method of fracture analysis and combined with the interaction coefficient of stiffeners and plates, a computational formula of J integration is proposed in this paper for the material that coincides with the Ramberg-Osgood stress-strain relationship. Meanwhile, numerical simulation is carried out with the finite element software ANSYS, whose results are compared with the data obtained from the theoretical model. It is shown that the theoretical model can be viewed as reliable, which accurately reflects the fracture behavior of the stiffened plate and the anti-crack property of stiffeners. Therefore, it can be directly applied into the theoretical analysis of stiffened plates under fatigue loads. Overall, the results in this paper are of vital importance for the low cycle fatigue research on hull structures.
