Relationship Between Sound Radiation and Vibration from Stiffened Cylindrical Shell

  • This paper presents a study on the relationship between vibration and sound radiation from submerged cylindrical shell. This was done via a series of vibration sensors which were fitted on the stiffened cylindrical shell for estimating the vibration and radiated noise level. With the transfer function and acoustic transfer vector, the sound radiation transfer function was obtained through the acceleration of structure measurement points and the acoustic measurement points from the stiffened cylindrical shell. The numerical analysis of vibration and sound radiation from two stiffened cylindrical shells was carried out by these methods. The results show that the relationship between vibration and sound radiation of the shell are not monotonic.
