The Theoretical Analysis of Noiseless Helicoid Blade and its Power System

  • When the gas turbine, new impulse Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), and helicoid blade with increased outside diameter and length are combined to make up a power system, the propeller unit load will decline significantly. As a result, if the propeller's speed drops below a critical value(zero noise condition), it could improve the overall stealth performance. Since the rotating speed of the propeller and its power consumption forms a linear relationship, one pair of units is required to be arranged symmetrically to balance the large torque, and two paddles are needed to turn in the opposite direction of rotation. The results show that the connection of reversing lever and the shift lever could increase the ship's acceleration, brake, reverse operation, and zero turning radius. Thus, the ship's steering performance is improved, where the ship is able to go in and out from the berth automatically, the constant CVT rate moving can be achieved, and the propellers and the engines could coordinate perfectly with no engine power wasted. In brief, the system enables the ship to reach the maximum range and average speed with less power consumption, which is essentially environmentally friendly.
